AppDistroLocal Engine

Content for your app, written and scheduled by your coding agent.

AppDistro is source code you open with your coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor or Codex). Give it a link to your app and it writes the slides, generates the photographs, cuts the reels and queues the posts. Ask for a week, a month or a year at a time.

AppDistroSetup Engine

One command.
Then as much content as you want.

This is the first run on a new app. It takes about five minutes, once, and it is the last time you touch anything.

$ node dist/bin/distro.js setup --url https://apps.apple.com/us/app/yours/id123 [1/6] Preflight Node v22.11.0 ✓ · ffmpeg 6.1.1 ✓ [2/6] Reading your app listing Extracting metadata for IOS ID: 123 [3/6] Researching your audience from real reviews Comparable apps found: 6 Read 284 reviews from 6 comparable apps. 18 recurring phrases found [4/6] Interview ...
  1. You open the code you just downloaded

Point your coding agent at the folder and say the word. It checks the machine, installs what it needs, then starts a short interview — one question at a time, with a recommendation and a reason for each option.

  2. You give it a link to your product

An App Store or Play listing. It reads the page and takes your name, tagline, icon and screenshots from it, and the closing slide of every set is drawn from that same listing.

  3. It does the ICP research for you

It reads the reviews of the apps that already serve your audience, runs frequency analysis over the actual words they use, and writes the contract every later batch is written against. It tells you how many reviews it read and whether that was a thin sample.

  4. You tell it where the photos come from

A local model on your own machine, or a folder of pictures you already own. AppDistro does not ship a photo library — see what you provide.

  5. Then you ask for as much content as you want

A week, a month, a year. Connect it to Postiz and the whole batch is queued for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, one post per day, starting tomorrow.

AppDistroOutput Blueprints

This is what
one command makes.

Vertical 9:16 photo slideshows, in the style the platforms already reward: amateur-looking photographs, white text with a heavy black stroke, lowercase, written as an interior monologue.

$ ls -R apps/your-app/ apps/your-app/ brain.md distro.config.json POOL_REPORT.md dist/ pending/copy-request.json pending/copy-response.json batch-2026-10-24/ batch-spec.json set_001/ src-00.png … slide-04.png video.mp4 set_002/ src-00.png … slide-04.png video.mp4 # one folder per set · every set a reel
The slides
1080×1920 PNGs in swipe order, three to five per set depending on the format. White fill, heavy black stroke, lowercase, a counter chip above the opening line.
The closing card
The last slide carries your real listing — icon, name, subtitle, your actual star rating and rating count — taken from the store page you gave it. No invented numbers.
The video
The same slides cut into a vertical MP4 with a crossfade and a music bed, so one set posts as a TikTok slideshow, an Instagram reel, a Facebook video and a YouTube Short.
The caption
One line and two or three hashtags, written for that specific set. Every caption is checked against everything the account has posted before it is accepted — nothing repeats.

The formats that ship with it are timeline, confession, before / after and glow up. The clone command reads a slideshow that already works in your niche into a new blueprint, and reads the comments under it as audience research.

AppDistroThe Honest Part

What you provide, and why.

Most tools in this category quietly bake in a stock library and a bundled model call. We would rather tell you exactly what is yours and what is ours.

AppDistroFirst Principle

A photo library you did not choose is a photo library you cannot defend.

So AppDistro ships the machine — the interview, the research, the writer, the pool, the renderer, the reel cutter, the scheduler. It does not ship a photo library, and it does not ship a copy model. Both are configured during the interview:

Photographs
Any image model on your own machine that speaks the OpenAI images API — ComfyUI, A1111, LM Studio, Ollama — or a folder of pictures you already own. If no source is configured, the pipeline stops and tells you, rather than reaching for something you did not choose.
The words
Either your coding agent writes them (the CLI hands it a brief and validates what comes back), or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint with your own key. Either way the copy is written for your app, per batch — not pulled from a bank of canned lines.

The rest — rendering, reels, captions, the anti-repetition pool, scheduling — runs entirely on your machine and costs nothing per post.

AppDistroFAQ

Straight answers.

How much of this is actually automatic?

All of it except the interview, which happens once. You say "generate a month of slideshows" and the machine writes the copy, generates the photographs, renders the slides, cuts the reels, writes a different caption for each and queues the whole batch. You can still open the batch and change anything, but you do not have to.

What does it cost to run?

Rendering, reels, captions and scheduling are free — all of it runs locally. The two costs are yours to choose: an image model on your own machine (free, if you have the hardware), a paid API key, or your own photos. On top of that you need a coding agent to drive it, which most developers are already paying for.

Do I need to be technical?

You need a coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor or Codex) and the confidence to run one command. You give it a link to your app and it installs everything, reads the page, and sets itself up. You never open a config file unless you want to.

Can it repeat itself?

It is built not to. Every hook, caption and body line is hashed into a per-account pool, and a set is only accepted if it is genuinely new. When the writer runs out of fresh angles it stops and tells you how many sets it dropped, instead of recycling old lines. The pool report at apps/<slug>/POOL_REPORT.md shows the real numbers.

Is this a subscription?

No. One payment, yours, running on your own machine with your own keys. No licence server, nothing phones home, and every 1.x update is included.

Why is it $25?

Because the first customers are the ones who tell us what breaks. The list price is $250; the founding-customer price is $25 and it is being honoured for as long as it takes to get the feedback this needs. No fake counters, no invented scarcity.
